Pix666: Hey Daria, many people know you and your voice from many YouTube videos. But who is the girl with the guitar – where exactly do you come from, when did you start making music and do you play other instruments besides guitar?

Daria: Hi! I was born in a small village in Siberia. Now I’m living in Barnaul. I’d say that I started making covers because of OOMPH!. One of their songs impressed me so much so I decided to buy my first guitar. I was learning to play the guitar myself. Then after a while I recorded my first cover by OOMPH! ‘Swallow’. Besides guitar I can play a piano a little bit, but hope to improve my piano skills in future.

Pix666: Your cover songs of internationally known bands, such as 30 Seconds To Mars, Muse, Rammstein or Eisbrecher are beautiful. But it is noticeable that you especially like to cover German bands – and even in German. What is your relationship to Germany, German bands and the German language?

Daria: About 15 years ago for the fist time I saw a Rammstein videoclip ‘Ohne Dich’. And remember how I was standing in front of TV like petrified. It was so good to hear how German language sounds in music. Apart from it I studied German in the school and this song encouraged me to learn German with great interest. And now I’m still studying it but due to lack of practrise I can’t speak it properly. So later I discovered many other German bands and realised that this is the music I wanna to listen to.
By and large, Germany is my biggest love since my childhood.

Pix666: Your YouTube videos are of very good quality for a cover singer. Who helps you with the realization of the clips?

Daria: Thank you! I’m doing it all myself.

Pix666: Many of your videos have thousands of hits on YouTube, and one has over 400,000 hits, so you’re drawing the attention of fans. But did you ever get feedback on your songs from one of the bands, or even meet one or the other band in person?

Daria: Yes, I got some feedbacks from the bands such as Eisbrecher, Lord Of The Lost, In Strict Confidence and Darkhaus. They posted my videos on their official Facebook pages and this is so awesome! It always cheers me up and makes me very happy. Not so long ago I had the opportunity to talk to Dero Goi from OOMPH!. He rocognized me and it was cool.

Pix666: Could you imagine releasing an album with your own songs or singing a duet with a band – or preferably both?

Daria: Both I think. It’s always a pleasure to write own songs and singing a duet with bands. I already have several songs but for now I have no possibility to bring them to life. In near future, maybe…

Pix666: You are not only a musician, you are also a photographer and you also paint, right? Is one of these things the one you mainly do for a living, or do you have another ‘normal’ job?

Daria: I worked as an IT specialist by profession, but then I realised that I have to do what I really love. So I started taking photography. And yes, I’m also a self taught artist.
